A long history of diving experience
Founder Wayne Gomer became interested in the ocean at a very early age and started his diving career in the 1960s when he made his first scuba dive off the Island of Bermuda. That experienced sparked a 40+ year career that includes becoming a NAUI instructor in 1976 and a PADI instructor in 1978. As an instructor, Wayne is proud to have introduced thousands of new divers to the sport.

A business built on the love of diving
Established on May 10, 1985, Divers Market is a place where staff can share their love and enthusiasm for diving with the general public. Visitors can find knowledgeable professionals, quality equipment and the finest instruction on the East Coast with staff members who are driven by the idea that customer service should exceed expectations.

Wayne has been overseeing dive facility operations for over 47 years. He strives to maintain a consistent professional dive operation and in doing so has created a vast loyal customer base.

Greg taught Science for 35 years, which got him interested in the ocean environment. He has done over 500 dives, many on the wrecks off Monomoy, and recently, all over the Caribbean. His favorite place to dive is Little Cayman.

A local diver since 1999. I'm a home grown and trained Divers Market diver. Love every time I can get under the water! Diving is very Zen for me with just the right balance of adventure. I love sharing my joy in diving by teaching. Saving the planet 1 student at a time by helping them fall in love with diving is an important goal for me. They will then become protectors of our precious marine environment.

Favorite Fish or Critter: Torpedo Ray! I met this fish off of Sandwich Town Beach years ago. I found the fish sitting on the sea floor. After poking it with my finger I left it alone. Later that day I learned the ray can send out an electric jolt. My beginnings... (do not touch torpedo rays)

Certification: NAUI Open Water 1994. Became a PADI Advanced Open Water diver in 1997. 1974 was a wonderful time to be certified with the release of movie Jaws in summer 1975.

Favorite Fish or Critter: Goosefish - Encountered one on my hand on my third qualification dive in 1974. A goosefish grabbed a hold of my hand and forearm , and I almost failed my third dive.

Things I Like Outside of Diving: Spend time with my 5 grandchildren, traveling, bike riding with my wife, and spending Februarys on Sanibel Island, Florida.

Served 35 years in the Fire/Rescue and the Emergency Medical Services field. Veteran of US Coast Guard and Navy Reserve. Became certified to dive in 1994 and was assigned to a public safety dive/rescue team. My goal is to share my passion for diving with both recreational divers and professional public safety divers. I started diving with Diver’s Market in 1994 and my family has all been certified with Wayne and his crew.

Frank has been a certified diver since he was 12 yrs old. He has always enjoyed scuba diving and learning about the ocean and all of its inhabitants. He has dove in Massachusetts, Florida, Bermuda, Hawaii, Honduras, Little Cayman, and two aquariums (Georgia Aquarium and EPCOT Living Seas).

He loves to talk to people about the ocean and how they can help protect it for future generations to enjoy.

He can't wait to go back in the water and explore!

Favorite Fish or Critter: Caribbean Reef Shark - he just went on his first shark feeding dive and he had so much fun swimming with the sharks. At first, he was a little nervous, but as the dive went on he realized how misunderstood sharks are. He hopes to make people change their view on sharks and how they need to be saved to keep the ocean healthy.

Things I Like Outside of Diving: Likes to enjoy time and travel with his family. Play golf and paint and draw ocean marine life.
